It may have 'concept' in its name, but this puppy looks ready for the road.
A concept variant of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG is now on show at the LA Auto Show, giving prospective buyers the chance to gauge what to expect of Affalterbach's newest creation that is destined for launch early next year. Under the hood, the same 2.0-liter turbo-four that sits in the CLA45 and A45 AMG continues to churn out 355 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque, and comes mated with a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive.
Mercedes is confident the crossover will run 0-60 mph in the fours, making the 5.5-second Audi RS Q3 look labored by comparison. The concept's styling will continue to production practically untouched, including the AMG body kit, 21-inch AMG-spec alloys, large exhausts, new rear spoiler and front splitter. The fancy livery, we suspect, will remain on the show floor.
