German automaker Mercedes-Benz already has some fully electric vehicles on sale, such as the EQS, AMG-EQS, and the EQC. The EQE sedan is coming soon along with an expanded EQ-branded lineup. But the innovation isn't stopping there. Earlier this month, Mercedes teased its new concept, the Vision EQXX, an EV that's supposedly capable of achieving an incredible 750-mile range on a single charge. The carmaker says the concept, its most efficient vehicle ever, will also have several breakthrough software technologies.

Just ahead of the holiday weekend, Mercedes has released a second teaser video before the concept's January 3 reveal at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The four-minute video focuses on the car's shape and aerodynamics.

Designers always want to create stunning vehicles while engineers aim for supreme aero efficiency. This project allowed both sides to go all-out. Working together, they managed to come up with things like movable body parts and retractable diffusers. For example, a newly designed part located at the rear is capable of moving up and down when extended, allowing for better aero. Without it, designers would have had to make the vehicle even longer.

It's still too soon to know if the Vision EQXX directly previews an upcoming production version or, more than likely, a general design and tech display of what's possible going forward. In any case, the concept, at least based on these teaser shots, looks like it'll be stunning.

There's going to be at least one more video teaser between now and the reveal date. At the end of this one, we're told the next topic up for discussion is the concept's advanced battery pack, specifically the challenges faced regarding pre-charge resistors. Anything capable of a 750-mile range (nearly double of the Tesla Model S Plaid!) is more than worthy of your attention.

We've been told Mercedes has been working on the Vision EQXX project for quite some time and the culmination of its efforts will soon be revealed to the world.
