For millions, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. LeBron James fans might disagree, but that's an entirely different conversation. Aside from leading the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships, Jordan treated himself to some awesome cars. Mercedes-Benz was one of his preferred brands, evidenced by the S600 V12 he purchased years ago and sold for over $200k last summer.

Back in 2017, however, Jordan's ultra-rare 2007 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 Edition was listed for sale with a price tag of $625,000. And now it's being offered again by the same dealer, Crave Luxury Auto of Woodlands, Texas. Only now the asking price has increased to $695,750.

Chassis No. 001327 was purchased by Jordan in 2007 and, as noted above, is a 722 Edition which pays tribute to the late Sir Stirling Moss and his 300 SLR with the starting number 722 with which he won the 1955 Mille Miglia with co-driver Denis Jenkinson. This example is painted in Crystal Antimony Grey with black 19-inch wheels.

722 Editions also featured wider bodywork in order to fit the wider 19-inch alloys housing carbon-ceramic brakes, larger air extractors on the hood and sides, a revised front grille, and a rear spoiler and diffuser. It also boasts a stiffer suspension, improved aero, and "722" badging. Weight was also reduced by 877 pounds with the new total coming to a mere 2,900 pounds.

Inside there are carbon fiber seats and dashboard, and plenty of Alcantara trim. Under the hood lies the same 5.4-liter supercharged V8 found in all SLR McLarens, though 722 Editions were given a power boost of 24 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque for a new total of 641 hp and 605 lb-ft. Mercedes claimed a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. Interestingly, the mileage count is still 1,038 miles - the same number from 2017.

The price tag is understandably very high but given the car's rarity and its legendary previous owner, we think it's relatively reasonably priced. Alternatively, a brand-new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series costs less than half that amount.
