Former F1 world champion is undergoing second operation in French hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Michael Schumacher has suffered a severe brain trauma and brain haemorrhage after falling heavily and hitting his head while skiing with his friends and 14-year-old son on the French Alps. The 44-year-old former Ferrari F1 driver was airlifted to Grenoble after the accident where he remains in a coma. Gerard Saillant, a top brain surgeon from Paris and close friend of Schumacher, is attending to the firmer grand prix driver.
As of writing, the Formula One legend has undergone two operations with updates expected later today. Messages of support have flooded since the news broke, with fellow racing drivers Felipe Massa, Jenson Button and Romain Grosjean, as well as other athletes, including tennis legend Boris Becker and Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki tweeting their support.
