Military-Inspired 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition

Special Edition

Jeep has released a special edition Wrangler inspired by our nation’s troops.

July 4th is fast approaching and Jeep is celebrating America's birthday in style. The company has a long-standing relationship with our nation's military and a new special edition model has been released in tribute to our veterans just ahead of Independence Day. The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition features plenty of military-inspired touches such as an "Oscar Mike" fender badge (army speak for "on the move") and a decal on the hood.

The Freedom Edition is available in red, white or blue exterior finishes for an even more patriotic feel. "The Jeep brand has a long, renowned history that began with its significant presence and success within the U.S. military. Jeep - and particularly the Wrangler - is the icon for capability and durability, and is a true symbol of American freedom. The new Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition is created in honor of Jeep's one-of-a-kind history, and as a tribute to all of the brave men and women who have and continue to serve in the U.S. military," said Jeep President and CEO Mike Manley in regards to the new model.

The Freedom Edition is based on the Sport model and available in two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited configurations. Mineral Gray 17-inch wheels, grille and front and rear bumper inserts have also been added. The interior of the Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition features black seats, "Oscar Mike" badging and logos throughout and "Quick Silver"-finished door handles, dash vent rings and grab handles. Jeep says that for each Wrangler Freedom Edition sold, $250 will be split between the Fisher House Foundation and the I Support Foundation charities.

Chrysler Group LLC, of which Jeep is a part of (along with Ram, Dodge and Fiat) already provides members of our nation's military with a $500 cash allowance towards the purchase or lease of one of their brand's eligible cars. The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition prices at $28,165 for the two-door version and $30,670 for the four-door Wrangler Unlimited version.
