Rauno Aaltonen, the Finnish driver who won Mini's first rally championship back in 1967 at the Monte Carlo Rally, has just seen a special edition Cooper and Cooper S named after him. The Chili Red-painted special edition is only available in Europe and unfortunately doesn't feature any bonuses in terms of power, performance or handling. What the Rauno Aaltonen Edition Mini does features, however, is plenty of exterior changes which give the British hatch a slick new look.

In addition to the white-on-red racing livery, the special edition sports a white air intake, unique badging, white stripes and aggressive "Infinite Stream Spoke" 17-inch wheels. The Rauno Aaltonen Special Edition Cooper S comes with a one-day ice driving lesson at a rally school owned by Aaltonen and his son, Tino. Both the Cooper and Cooper S look terrific in their tribute to "The Rally Professor" get-up. Mini has yet to release pricing information for either of the new editions.
