As part of the "Mini Yours" program, Mini offers a wide selection of customization options comparable to premium manufacturers to make every Mini Cooper look unique, from eye-catching exterior and interior color options to custom wheels and decals. Mini claims there are millions of combinations available. Back in 2018, Mini expanded its personalization service with the launch of the "Mini Yours Customized" service allowing customers to design and order their own personalized 3D-printed parts. Just three years later, the innovative customization program has been unceremoniously shut down.

There was no formal announcement but visiting the Mini Yours Customized website greets you with the following message: "Dear Mini fan, our personalized products of Mini Yours Customized are no longer available."

Mini hasn't said what will happen to existing orders, but the message invites customers to contact the automaker if they have any questions about their order. When the service was available for Mini three-door, five-door and convertible cars in the current model range, customers could design their own side scuttles, trims for the passenger side in the interior, LED door sills, and LED door projectors by selecting different colors, patterns, surface finishes and icons on an online configurator.

To further personalize the design, custom text and signatures could also be integrated. To provide the unique 3D-printing customization service, BMW partnered with companies such as Hewlett-Packard Inc., Carbon Inc. and EOS GmbH.

After an order was placed, the custom parts were produced in Germany using 3D printing and laser lettering before being delivered to the customer.

Each part was easy to install and could be easily removed and swapped out. To showcase what the service could do, Mini presented the one-off Cooper S Royal Wedding Edition celebrating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding fitted with 3D parts available from Mini Yours Customized. Mini hasn't said why the unique customization service has been scrapped so soon, but it perhaps wasn't as popular as the manufacturer had hoped.
