UK-based tuner Mountune is renowned for extracting more power from Ford's fantastic four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. Recently, the tuner gave the Ford Focus RS a massive power boost up to 684 horsepower, and now Mountune has developed a tuning kit for the Ford Focus ST that gives the performance hatchback the power it deserves.

Ford unveiled the new Focus ST last year with the company's 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, which produces 275 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque in stock form and replaces the old model's 2.0-liter unit. If that's not enough power for you, Mountune's new m330 package increases the output to 325 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, making it more powerful than the Volkswagen Golf R and Honda Civic Type R.

Three calibrations are available with the m330 upgrade, including Stock, Sport/Track, and Performances modes, with the latter delivering maximum performance. Sport/Track mode engages a more aggressive launch control and exhaust note, while Stock Performance reverts the car back to standard configuration. In Performance mode, the modified Ford Focus ST will sprint to 0-62 mph in 5.2 seconds, down from 5.7 seconds in the stock car. Other upgrades include no-lift shift optimization for smooth and precise lift-less gear changes and enhanced exhaust overrun.

To unlock the extra power, owners simply need to plug Mountune's adapter into the OBD and activate the upgrade using the company's 'SMARTflash' smartphone app.

"We're delighted to finally launch the m330 package, enhancing power and performance to what is an already great car," said Alec Pell-Johnson, Director of Mountune performance. "Both the m225 and m235 kits have been hugely successful since they launched, with customers loving how easy it is to change the calibration of their car direct from their smartphone. SMARTflash is the future of calibration upgrades and we are looking forward to seeing how our customers receive our latest upgrade for the Mk4 Focus ST."

Mountune's m330 package for the Ford Focus ST costs just £599.00 ($696.49). Sadly, the Ford Focus ST is no longer sold in America as Ford continues to focus on more lucrative crossovers and SUVs.
