Brian O'Connor's garish green Mitsubishi Eclipse and Dominic Toretto's 1970 Dodge Charger were undoubtedly the main car stars of the original Fast & Furious movie. Back then, the franchise focused on street racing instead of over-the-top action, which meant a number of memorable modified machines featured in the film including this Volkswagen Jetta.

Normally, a used 1995 Volkswagen Jetta being listed for sale wouldn't be big news, but this is a chance to own the same car that was driven in The Fast & Furious movie 16 years ago.

Granted, it doesn't have the same star appeal as the Eclipse or Charger, but we can imagine hardcore Fast & Furious fans wanting to snap up an original car from the film even if it had a minor role. In this case, the Jetta featured one of the film's drag races, in which it was defeated by a Honda S2000. Nearly 20 years later, the modified Jetta is still in the same condition it was during filming.

Under the hood, the customized Jetta is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. Modifications made to the car appear to be purely cosmetic, including an aero kit, large alloy wheels and a custom racing livery. Inside, it has also been fitted with a custom stereo system that incorporates a PlayStation 2 games console. After filming was finished, the Jetta was purchased by actor-turned racer Frankie Muniz, who has owned it ever since.

Currently listed for sale on Auto Trader by Luxury Auto Collection in Scottsdale, anyone who wants to own this piece of car movie history will need to cough up $99,900. That's a steep price for a 23-year old Volkswagen Jetta, but the car has also been signed by director Rob Cohen, Chad Lindberg (the actor who played Jesse) and the late Paul Walker to help sweeten the deal.
