Mopar, the Chrysler, then Daimler-Chrysler, then Fiat-Chrysler and now Stellantis, performance arm is most known for making go-fast parts for Dodge Challenger and Chargers, and other classic Detroit sheetmetal. But the outfit makes parts for almost everything under the umbrella, including the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L.

"The Jeep brand continues to shatter expectations of the full-size SUV segment with the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L," said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. "Now with a third row of seating for the first time, the newest iteration of the most awarded SUV ever is designed and engineered to deliver an unmatched combination of even more legendary 4x4 capability, superior on-road refinement, premium styling and craftsmanship inside and out."

For vehicles like the Wrangler, Mopar parts consist of lift kits, performance air intakes, strengthened differentials, and new exhausts. But for the Grand Cherokee L it's a little different, as owners aren't looking to crush the competition and the trails out at Moab. They're looking to add comfort and convenience, mostly. Let's look at a couple important ones, that are included in the list of 75 for the new SUV.

New side steps cost $750. They're fully integrated and are meant to flow into the design of the vehicle. They're made of black galvanized steel with stainless steel and chrome-flashed overlay. They're powder coated for a tough finish and attach easily with three mounting brackets and stud plates on each side. No drilling is required.

You can get a roof-mounted cargo basket for $350. This one, called the Canyon, is 44 inches long, 39 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep and features the Jeep logo. It has a low-profile design to cut through the wind and maximum load capacity is 150 pounds. Mopar roof-rack crossbars are needed for this, costing $300, and Mopar also suggests the cargo net ($54) to keep your gear secure.

A watersport carrier is $200 and can carry a kayak, surfboard or sailboard and has several positions to fit flat or curved hulls. It comes with latching and a nylon strap to hold down the cargo. It too requires the roof-rack crossbars. There's also a tent kit (though it's not a rooftop tent) for $390. It comes with a 10x10 blue and gray tent with an overhead storage net, an exterior canopy, inside pockets, three mesh windows and a carrying case.

Mopar also offers new wheels, splash guards, floor mats, bike carrier and dozens of other add-ons. It's only about half the amount of Ford Bronco accessories, but we're sure more will be added soon.
