If you are currently in possession of a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, Jeep Wrangler 4xe or Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, Mopar has introduced a new piece of equipment that should make your ownership experience a bit easier. This new at-home wall charger can be had as a plug-in or hardwired version that is capable of supplying 7.7 kW of power.

With this, a full charge can be serviced to vehicles in just two hours - that's six times faster than the Level 1, 120-volt system. Adding to the convenience, the new Level 2 unit also boasts Wi-Fi connectivity which gives owners the ability to monitor and control the charging of their vehicles via a mobile app or web portal.

Each new charging unit has been certified by Energy Star and optimized for a balance between availability, efficiency, and cost. This has been done to help customers reduce their energy consumption and better manage their spending by having the option to charge at low-rate times. This will also give them the option to participate in energy credit programs, if available.

Mopar boasts that the wall charger is portable, lightweight, lockable, and weatherproof which makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor use. With a suggested retail price of $599, each unit is backed by a three-year warranty and can be ordered with a Jeep or Chrysler-branded faceplate.

"Our new factory-backed at-home Level 2 plug-in charging units offer a quick, seamless charging solution for Jeep 4xe and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid owners," said Mark Bosanac, North America vice president, Mopar Service, Parts & Customer Care. "At Mopar, we'll continue to enhance the customer experience and expand our electric-vehicle portfolio of accessories."

Mopar's wall charger is a sign of things to come with the Stellantis Group products currently running a fast-track to electrify many of its products. The Chrysler Airflow concept is just a preview of how the brand hopes to expand into a predominantly-electric company by 2028 by taking full advantage of the STLA Large electric platform.
