We've already seen that inexperienced drivers and rented supercars aren't a good mix. Recently, a rented Lamborghini Huracan was destroyed in a high-speed police chase by a drunk driver. In this case, alcohol wasn't to blame, just pure incompetence. In the UK, a white McLaren 650S Spider was recently rented for a wedding party. Suffice to say, if you can afford to hire a 614-horsepower supercar, it doesn't necessarily mean you have the required skills to handle it properly.

Keen to see what the 650S could do, the driver decided to try out the supercar's launch control in a car park. Unsurprisingly, it didn't end well. Clearly unprepared for its brutality, the driver lost control and smashed into a nearby tree at speed. According to The Sun, no one was hurt in the accident, thankfully, but the same can't be said for the mangled McLaren. Photos posted by Patrick Harris on Facebook show the supercar wrapped around the tree with a dismembered front end, while a video shared by Asian Lad shows the stricken supercar being towed by a Range Rover. "I guess you won't be getting your deposit back guys," the video description reads. No kidding.

The rescuers try to remove the supercar gingerly to avoid causing more damage. The impact was severe enough to trigger both airbags to deploy, but surprisingly the windshield remained intact. Providing there's no damage to the McLaren's carbon fiber tub, this 650S should be repairable. Let's just hope it's handled by a more capable driver next time.
