The Ford Motor Company will happily sell you a 760-horsepower Mustang Shelby GT500 for a starting price of $73,995. Go nuts with the options and your GT500 can easily exceed $100k. This is simply the price to pay for the highest performing Mustang on sale. Or is it? Aftermarket tuner Roush is also in the business of making fast Mustangs and the company's Stage 3 supercharged model is no slouch with 710 hp on tap.

But it will take more than 710 hp to dethrone the GT500 and Roush is not shying away from the challenge. The tuner issued a press release leading up to the 2019 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where it will debut the new 2020 Jack Roush Edition Mustang.

Roush says this new model is "Built to celebrate the legacy and accomplishments of motorsports legend Jack Roush" and will be "the most powerful production Roush Mustang ever built." As a further indicator of how special the Jack Roush Edition will be, the company will hand-build just 60 examples in the United States. There is no word on pricing but with a limited production of just 60 units, we don't expect this Mustang to come cheap. The engine output also remains a mystery, though it will certainly be more powerful than the Stage 3 car, meaning it could approach GT500 levels of power.

There are no pictures of the car yet but Roush says the car will be equipped with "race-inspired styling cues" such as a specially-calibrated MagneRide suspension, unique Roush forged wheels, an Active Aerodynamic Carbon Fiber rear wing, and other unique performance features. We won't have to wait long to see the car as it's set to be revealed on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at 3 pm during the 2019 SEMA Show. If you aren't attending SEMA, the reveal will also be live-streamed on the Roush Performance Facebook page.
