Ford, as well as quite a few other manufacturers, has certainly been diving head first into turbocharging over the past few years. But it is a pool that it dipped its toe into a long time ago, with turbocharged models in the 80s becoming surprisingly mainstream for a brief period. And here we have MotorWeek's contemporary review of the 1987 Ford Thunderbird TurboCoupe giving us a reminder (or a history lesson, for those a bit younger) of what we all thought of them back then.
