Oil and lubricants giant Motul has announced the first Cote De California exotic car rally will take place in May this year, with a stunning drive from the canyons of Los Angeles to the gorgeous Monterey Peninsula.

Motul is touting the event as a premium experience, and guests will be treated to some truly extraordinary experiences. Following lunch in Malibu, the rally will take attendees on a lively drive to Paso Robles where they'll find refuge in the luxurious Allegretto Vineyard Resort. This overnight stop also includes a culinary experience with the Tooth & Nail wine company.

The second day starts off with a spirited coastal drive up to Monterey, where guests will enjoy a stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Spa, along with dinner in the magical observatory room of The Sardine Factory.

But the highlight of the trip is reserved for the final day.

The WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca will serve as the final location, where individuals will be entertained at a hospitality suite that has extraordinary views of the on-track action. Motul's guests can also gain access to the special paddock to heighten the experience.

There's no mention of whether attendees can take their own vehicles onto the track, but it would be a great end to what sounds like a special trip - especially if you're behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Aventador or Ferrari SF90.

"The Cote De California rally presents an exciting opportunity for car enthusiasts to connect with one another and also the historic Motul brand on some of the best roads and beautiful settings on the West Coast. The sublime drives, luxury experiences, and unique access to Motul's Course de Monterey will make for a storied experience, curated with the help of our motorsport partners," said the company's Nolan Browning.

The Motul Cote De California will partner with big names including Hyundai and Michelin, as well as high-end automotive brands like Brabus USA and Gunther Werks. Gran Turismo actress Emelia Hartford will be one of several special guests and Motul ambassadors. The rally will take place between May 12 - 14 later this year, and registration is now open for would-be participants.

It's a big year for the French oil brand, which celebrates its 170th anniversary in 2023. The inaugural rally is the first of many and, who knows, it may gain a following as strong as the Gumball 3000.

Motul has maintained a strong connection with the racing world and recently built a Dakar-inspired Jeep Wagoneer to celebrate five years as the rally's official oil partner. The company also shared its legendary livery with the Acura NSX sports car as a sort of wheeled tribute to racing cars of years gone by.
