McLaren’s bespoke division reveals a study in lightness.
To showcase the capabilities of its McLaren Special Operations division, the British carmaker has revealed a custom McLaren 12C. Dubbed the MSO 12C Concept, the one-off model comes cloaked in new carbon-fiber goodies including front wing louvres, a redesigned hood, and rear wing vents. The MSO 12C also boasts a roof upgraded with a built-in snorkel channeling air to the engine, and a unique air brake. To keep weight down, the car comes with titanium wheel bolts, oil and water filler caps, as well as new lightweight alloys and a carbon-fiber instrument cluster.
