This all-American dual takes place at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, where the two monsters are hot lapped by professional racing driver Randy Pobst before being taken for a full on drag race. In terms of output these American heavyweights couldn't be more evenly matched. The 8.4-liter V10 that lurks beneath the SRT Viper's hood is good for 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, while the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that powers the ZR1 is capable of 638 hp and 604 lb-ft.

Both are mated to 6-speed manual transmissions and although the Vette is almost seven inches longer than the 98.8-inch Viper, their curb weights are practically identical at just a tad over 3,300 lbs. There are also plenty of stylistic similarities between the $120k sports cars, so which one you prefer to have parked on your driveway?
