And that's that "something else."
Forsome days now, we've been talking about Elon Musk's mysterious Tweet, promising a big day on October 9. Musk wrote: "About time to unveil theD and something else." After finding out that the "D" was infact just a new, all-wheel drive variant of the existing Model S – expected tobe dubbed the P85D – Musk has now confirmed what the company's "somethingelse" is going to be. Speaking to CNNMoney the other day, Musk said thatTesla's system should be "90 percent capable of autopilot."
Using the combination of sensors, cameras and image recognition thatwe've come to expect from these systems, Musk says "90 percent of yourmiles can be on auto. For sure highway travel." The system isexpected to launch as early as next year, but Musk didn't specify which modelit would be offered on.
