Development of the new Ford Focus RS is coming along swimmingly, and having already learned the third-gen model will come powered by a 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost derived from the unit in the 2015 Mustang, these latest spy shots reveal the car's new front spoiler and bumper. Caught testing at the Nurburgring, the RS also sports twin exhausts that those on the ground said were emitting a particularly loud engine note.

Rumors suggest the new Focus RS will have around 330 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. That's more than the second-gen model yet fuel economy will improve by around 20 percent. It will also be lighter, come with a six-speed manual as standard, and boast a lowered chassis with sportier suspension setup. The new Ford Focus RS is expected to launch in 2016.
