New limited edition runs of the Mazda2 Black and the MX-5 Sport Black have been released this week from Mazda. Finding inspiration in the successful MX-5 GT race car, both cars look slick and stunning in comparison to their base models. The Mazda MX-5 Sport Black features a bespoke Brilliant Black electric retractable hard-top and dark 'gun metal' 17-inch light alloy wheels.

These two features compliment the catchy bodywork colors of Crystal White Pearlescent, Velocity Red mica or Spirited Green metallic (pictured). The black leather interior features 'sand' color stitching for a nice contrast, with a Piano Black steering wheel and deco panel. Limited Edition floor mats and unique 'Black Limited Edition' badging ties the interior and exterior together neatly. The MX-5 Sport Black is based on the Sport Tech trim which features a Bose audio system, Bluetooth, and a 12 seconds flat folding retractable roof. The Mazda2 Black runs the same three paint schemes as the MX-5 Sport Black and is based on the 83hp 1.3-liter Tamura.

The Mazda2 Black is equipped with matte black 16-inch alloy wheels, black vinyl roof, privacy glass, front fog lights and a sports-trimmed rear bumper. It also features Bluetooth and 'Black Edition' badging on the floor mats and exterior. Only 500 units of the Mazda MX-5 Sport Black will be produced and will price at £22,995. That is only £360 more than the base 158hp 2.0-liter six-speed transmission Sport Tech model. 618 units of the Mazda2 Black will be available. Each True Red version will cost £12,395 while the other metallic and pearlescent colors will run slightly higher at £12,815.
