The A8 L Security will be offered with a 500-horsepower W 12 engine, and there's supposed to be another unit that will follow in 2012. The 500-hp alone is bound to keep you well ahead in a car chase.

The vehicle has also been officially certified by a German government ballistics testing facility in Munich for compliance with the class VR 7 ballistic protection standard. Safety from most forms of attacks is virtually guaranteed due to the sheet metal and glazing in the passenger cell that can withstand gun-fire. Inside, the interior armoring weights 720 kilograms (1,587 lbs) and the aluminum side sills have solid steel sections built in. The windows alone weigh in at over 300 kilos (661 lbs) and it take engineer over 450 hours to finish the A8 L Security.
