It might not look that special but the price tag suggests otherwise.
Audi has unveiled a new exclusive edition Audi RS7. The car itself will be limited to only 23 units worldwide, hence the "exclusive edition" nomenclature. Audi says it'll cost you a whopping $166,495 after a paltry $1,095 destination fee. For a car that's only going to exist in the form of 23 units, that price far exceeds the 2022 Audi RS7's $119,595 base price. That's $46,900 more than the base car, or roughly one Audi S3.
Audi says that the exclusive edition will only be available in what it calls "Mamba Black pearl effect" paint. Unfortunately, you can't see it in the photos, but these 23 special cars should have a hint of blue hue to them, much like BMW's Carbon Schwartz Metallic.
The paint alone isn't worth a whole other Audi, however. All cars will also come with Audi's Carbon Optic Package. That adds carbon fiber to the mirror caps, front lip, and rear diffuser. Also on these cars are Audi's ever-present Black Optic Package that effectively removes any other color from the outside of the car, blacking out the badges and Audi rings.
These cars will ride on Audi's 22-inch V-spoke wheels. However, not those aren't exclusive to the exclusive edition. They were on our RS7 loaner as well. Rest assured, they still look fantastic. The meaty rubber will measure 285/30R22, just like the standard car. Just behind those wheels and tires sit Audi's carbon ceramics (like the ones on the RS6). Those now sport blue calipers on the limited 23 units.
Inside, things change a bit less. Black leather is accented with Sepang Blue stitching, and you'll also find more of it than in a standard car (pictured below). That means leather on the door armrests, panels, center console trim, and dash. Additionally, the floor mats get leather edges accompanied by an Alcantara headliner.
Shockingly, there's no power bump for the pricey exclusive edition. Instead, things are still run by Audi's 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo unit making 591 hp to all four wheels and 590 lb-ft of torque. That all results in a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, plenty fast enough to outrun that new Audi S3 you could've bought for the price of this special edition.
