New BMW 7 Series Wraps Up For Winter Testing

Lighter, longer and with improved performance and handling, BMW has begun testing the all-new 7 Series.

Codenamed the G11, this is the 2016 BMW 7 Series caught winter testing in the minus 30-degree climes of Northern Sweden. Spied in stock length, the new 7 Series will also be offered as a long wheelbase. The use of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber will help trim the next-gen 7er’s curb weight by over 200 kg, which should improve handling, performance and economy. A range of six-, eight, and twelve-cylinder engines will be offered, all paired to auto boxes, along with a plug-in variant.
