Following news the new Z06 could be rechristened the Z07 for 2015, the first spy shots of a prototype model have surfaced with some telltale signs this is indeed the high-performance variant of the Stingray. The first clue is the huge, cross-drilled carbon-ceramic brakes clamped by large black calipers. These are enclosed in new multi-spoke alloys wrapped in some very wide high-performance rubber. Ahead of the rear wheels, the extra air vents worn by the last two generations of Z06 can be seen.

The rocker panels are also distinctly more aggressive than those on the standard Vette. Under the camo, the new front fascia appears to feature new aero elements flanking the grille opening. The hood also appears to be hiding a bigger hood bump to make room for the supercharger and extra venting. Power will come from the Stingray's 6.2-liter V8 supercharged to around 600-650 horsepower. The new Corvette Z06 is expected to debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
