Will be priced to rival top-spec Range Rovers.
With Bentley hard at work on its upcoming 2016 sports utility, more details regarding the plug-in hybrid SUV are beginning to surface. According to Auto Express, the Bentley's pricing will start at around $200,000 when it hits showrooms, putting it in the general ballpark of top-line Range Rovers and Cayennes. The ultra-luxury Bentley will be slightly smaller than the Rover, sized more like a Cayenne but packed with way more trimming and luxury goodies.
While the company’s CEO and Chairman, Wolfgang Schreiber, has already stated that the yet-unnamed SUV will be the first hybrid offered by Bentley, it appears that it may first be offered with a diesel engine. In this case, the first-ever diesel Bentley could be offered with the Cayenne Diesel S’s 4.2-liter turbocharged engine that makes 382 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The new SUV will debut in 2016, followed by the hybrid version later that year or in 2017. Above all, it will have enough room to carry all the champagne flutes one driver could ever need.
