In a team up between Lekker Energie and battery company DBM Energy, there has been an attempt to electrify an Audi A2 in the hopes to set a new record. The goal was to complete a 379.9 mile journey from Munich to Berlin, Germany, all to claim a world record of sorts. The trick to completing such a journey lies in the batteries. Developed without government investment, the lithium metal polymer cells are said to be lighter and more powerful than traditional cells.

Just as important, they operate with an efficiency of 97 percent. What's even more amazing is that when it's connected to a generous enough power supply, the batteries can recharge in six minutes. No wonder they were able to set a new record of 372 miles with this electric Audi A2.
