Ferrari has unveiled their evolution package of performance-enhancing technical features for the 599XX, available exclusively to their racing clientele participating in the track-based R&D program for the 2012-2013 seasons. The key to the aerodynamic package is the active rear wing design, which features two flaps working in concert with the vehicle's stability systems, rotating electronically to adjust the downforce between the front & rear axles for better performance in cornering.

A modified front splitter, new rear diffuser, redesigned fences and foot-plates, the adoption of side exhausts and new Pirelli tires make up the rest of the modifications, resulting in a 20hp increase of power to 740hp and a 10lb-ft increase of torque to 516. With more power comes less weight, and the 599XX Evolution is 35kg lighter than the original track-only racer. Lapping Fiorano can now be done one second quicker with the updated 599XX posting a 1:15 lap time. If you compare this with the 1:24 managed by the road-legal 599 GTO, you get an idea how monstrous this monster really is.
