With its April 12 release fast approaching, a new extended trailer has been released for The Fate of the Furious, aka Fast and Furious 8. And while previous trailers satisfied our appetite for destruction, this one takes it to a whole new level. We now know how new antagonist Cypher played by Charlize Theron earned her reputation as "the very definition of hi-tech terrorism" - turns out she can hack and control any car in the city. Cue shots of literally dozens of cars crashing into each other that make the pileups in The Blues Brothers look tame.

Now the shot of cars plunging off buildings seen in previous trailers makes more sense. It's like the chase scene in Terminator 3 with hacked cars, but on a much larger scale - this could well end up on the list of most cars destroyed in a movie.

Interestingly, the trailer hints that Cypher's character is somehow connected to Dom in the last few films in the franchise. And as we suspected, Dom is turning against his crew against his will. We also get new shots of the epic Iceland chase, where we're led to believe that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's bulging biceps have the strength to move a torpedo. Only in Fast and Furious. Also, how many times must we be reminded that the crew is like a family? The word "family" was mentioned three times in the three-minute-long trailer. We get the point. Are you excited for The Fate of the Furious?
