While our spy photographer was recently holed up at the Nurburgring, he managed to catch the new hardcore Porsche 911 GT2 being put through its paces. Wearing practically no camo, the prototype carries plenty of resemblances to the brand-new 911 GT3 but can be distinguished by its wider wheel arches and rear fenders with their massive 911 Turbo-style air intakes. The GT2 also sports a large fixed rear wing, center-mounted dual exhausts and aggressively-styled bumpers.

Under the hood, power will come from a 3.8-liter turbo-six rated at around 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. 0-62 mph should come in at less than three seconds, and rumor has it top speed will be in excess of 200 mph, which would make the GT2 the fastest production 911 ever built. Look out for the 2014 Porsche 911 GT2 at next year's Geneva Motor Show where it will make its live debut.
