It's not uncommon for automakers to partner with movie studios to feature their cars in Hollywood films. Product placement is nothing new, and car manufacturers are particularly guilty of this in superhero films which are showing no signs of losing their popularity. Consequently, automakers see them as an effective promotional tool. For example, if you watched last year's Spiderman Homecoming, you will have been treated to a demo of the Audi A8's autonomous abilities in a gratuitous scene shoehorned into an action sequence.

Likewise, the Mercedes-AMG Vision Gran Turismo served as the caped crusader's daily driver in The Justice League. This year, the Lexus LC 500 will feature in a high-octane chase scene in Marvel's Black Panther released next month. And now Hyundai has announced that the all-new 2019 Veloster will see some action in the upcoming Ant Man sequel, 'Ant Man and the Wasp.' According to the Korean automaker, the Veloster will "play a significant role" in its big screen debut, where it will feature in a "hot pursuit" that highlights the hatchback's "capabilities in serving as the ultimate escape vehicle" as the pursuing cars will struggle to match its speed and handling. You won't see it get destroyed in an elaborate stunt, then.

The Veloster starring in Ant Man will sport a distinctive purple finish adorned with yellow and orange flames. Other modifications that you won't see on the standard car include a hood scoop, side exhaust pipes, and a large rear wing. "Similar to Marvel's passionate fans, the Hyundai Veloster attracts customers who are always looking for that next extraordinary moment and yearn for new discoveries and opportunities," said Hyundai's Dean Evans. "With both the Veloster and Ant-Man thriving on individuality, we feel this partnership is a great fit and we're excited to be accompanying Marvel on their next adventure."

"The Veloster totally exemplifies the energetic, no-holds-barred attitude that accompanies this franchise, and we're going to have a lot of fun working with Hyundai to see how we can share that mindset with fans all around the world", commented Marvel's SVP of Global Partnership and Marketing, Mindy Hamilton. You'll get to see the 2019 Hyundai Veloster hatchback make its cinematic debut along with other unannounced Hyundai models when Ant Man and the Wasp releases in theaters on July 6. Revealed at this year's Detroit Auto Show, the new Hyundai Veloster is available in three trims.

The base model is powered by a two a 2.0-liter engine developing 147-hp and 132 lb-ft of torque, while the Turbo model uses a smaller 1.6-liter engine with 201-hp on tap and 195 lb-ft of torque. Rounding up the range is the Veloster N which is powered 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit producing up to 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
