We're just a few weeks away from the all-new Karma Revero's world debut at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. Ahead of its imminent reveal, Karma Automotive has teased some juicy technical specifications for the next-generation 2020 Revero.

Underpinning the 2020 Revero will be a redesigned electric powertrain that includes a more powerful lithium-ion battery pack and a new "twin-motor rear drive module." In addition, the new Revero will be equipped with a BMW-sourced TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine that will power an on-board electric generator and "enhance overall vehicle performance."

No further technical details were provided, but Karma said it has been working with BMW since 2015 to help develop the onboard generator. This setup will enable the new Revero to hit 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds, nearly a full second faster than the model it replaces. For comparison, the current Revero uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four and two electric motors to produce a combined 403 horsepower and 981 lb-ft of instant torque.

"We created a world-class electric vehicle drive system that delivers the performance and packaging requirements of the new Revero," said Bob Kruse, Karma's Chief Technology Officer. "Alongside a series of other technological advancements, the new 2020 Revero is as fast as it looks."

A new teaser image has also been released showing the 2020 Karma Revero's sleek silhouette. Our last look at the new Revero revealed it will have a revised front fascia and new headlights, but we're expecting the overall design to be an evolutionary update over its predecessor.

The new Revero will debut at Auto Shanghai 2019 later this month before going on sale during the second half of this year. An update has been long overdue, as the current Revero is based on the old Fisker Karma that launched back in 2011, which was criticized for its steep price and poor reliability. In addition to the new Revero, Karma Automotive will also present a Pininfarina-designed concept car and the all-electric Vision concept at Auto Shanghai, which starts on April 16.
