New Lamborghini Huracan Coming Next Week

A new version of the Huracan will debut on 12 April.

Lamborghini has finally announced the premiere date for the latest Huracan model. We were fortunate enough to see a new version of the Huracan at the recent Aventador Ultimae Roadster launch, but we are sworn to secrecy until Lamborghini unveils the new model to the world.

You certainly can't tell much from the teaser image. It just shows a V10 badge and the Italian flag colors. That means it's like every other Huracan in the powertrain department.

There are currently two possibilities. Two versions of the Huracan were snapped recently. One appears to be a less hardcore version of the STO, rumored to be called JV Stradale. You can tell it's less hardcore by the lack of center-lock wheels. We can't tell you the name of the new variant, but we can say this original rumor is totally wrong.

It will be interesting to see if Lambo keeps the power output the same. A more road-friendly STO would be a welcome addition to the range.

As you can see from the spy shots, the Huracan is being tested in cold-weather conditions, so we're not expecting a RWD monster of a car.

The other possibility is the Sterrato off-road Huracan. The Sterrato is based on the Huracan Evo, but it has a raised suspension and chunkier tires. We're not quite sure what this sudden obsession with off-road supercars is, but we like it. Even Porsche is working on a Safari version of the 911.

The Sterrato dates back all the way to 2019 when it was first shown in concept form. Lambo's chief design officer, Maurizio Reggiani, was intent on making it a reality, but then the entire world went into lockdown.

Now, however, the world is back open and Lamborghini is finally free to launch its zany Huracan-based off-roader.

Which of these two will it be? We'll have to wait until April 12 to find out.
