The Lamborghini Urus has been around since 2018, powered by the Volkswagen Group's 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It's a stunning powertrain, producing 641 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.

It is time for a facelift, however. The Rambo Lambo will face multiple new rivals in the coming years, including the next-generation Range Rover Sport SVR and Ferrari Purosangue.

We won't have to wait long for the Urus Evo, which has been spied multiple times wearing design cues from the Huracan Tecnica. It's worth noting that the name "Evo" has not been confirmed, and it could just as easily be the Urus Performante. We know it will be unveiled at Pebble Beach later this month, so we won't have to wait long to find out.

It seems Lamborghini won't stop with the Urus Evo Performante Tecnica Veloce SVO Ultimae (that's all the possible names covered).

The Italian brand recently posted a teaser video on its Instagram page, also showing a Urus in camouflage. You can hardly see the car, but you can still hear the V8 engine. It also mentions Pikes Peak, and that gives us several clues.

We know Lamborghini is also working on a Urus hybrid. It will be a plug-in hybrid with an all-electric driving range and a considerable power boost. According to the rumor mill, as much as 820 hp and massive amounts of low-down torque.

The Urus PHEV is only scheduled to arrive in 2024, which means we'll likely see it for the first time in 2023.

The 101st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is set to take place over the weekend of June 25, 2023. That seems like the perfect opportunity to introduce a super SUV while demonstrating the benefits of having an EV motor on board.

As you might know, the Pikes Peak finish line is 14,115 feet above sea level. Even turbocharged cars suffer from altitude sickness, which is why EVs have become so popular at Pikes Peak.

The current record for SUVs is held by Bentley's Bentayga, using the 600-hp W12 motor. Looking at the Urus PHEV's rumored specifications, Lamborghini wouldn't have to try that hard to beat the current record.
