Lincoln is getting ready to reveal the new Nautilus luxury SUV in New York with a brief teaser video revealing a gargantuan digital dashboard ahead of the full reveal on April 17 reveal.

The shadowy teaser doesn't show much, but we can see a centrally-mounted infotainment touchscreen positioned lower than before. Previously, the screen sat atop the dashboard, but it's clear why a move was necessary, as the Nautilus now has a gargantuan, full-width digital screen doubling up as its instrumentation cluster.

The teaser shows what is presumably the startup graphic, in which the Nautilus name shows across the screen with a classy animation accenting it.

The elegant light show continues, moving into the door cards, giving us a glimpse of the elegant ambient lighting system. We will get a better glimpse of the interior in just a few days, but expect the Nautilus to have a thoroughly revamped cabin that matches the Germans for cutting-edge tech and plush luxury.

So, what can we expect from the exterior? The exterior design of the Nautilus leaked in China last year, previewing a seriously slick SUV with a bold front end. A larger grille, which resembles the one found on the facelifted Corsair, dominates the fascia. The slim headlights feature a light strip that extends into the grille and meets at the Lincoln emblem.

You'd be forgiven for thinking you're looking at an Audi Q8 if the rear of the Chinese Nautilus makes its way to the US. The light cluster, reflectors, and tailgate shape are strongly similar to the German luxury SUV.

There's a strong chance, however, that the vehicle that leaked in China will be specific to that market. The American variant may debut with distinctive styling.

The existing model is available with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque or a more powerful 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft. As this is a new model, we fully expect Lincoln to introduce new engines or perhaps even an electric powertrain. Failing that, the existing power plants will likely be refined to produce more power while improving fuel economy.

Previous reports suggested the Nautilus and Ford Edge would be discontinued after the 2023 model year, but it's clear that the Blue Oval still has faith in the Nautilus brand name. The newcomer will have quite the challenge ahead, as it faces competition in the form of the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class and the competent BMW X3.
