There have been some very high profile leaks in the auto industry over the past week. The new Kia Sorento, the new Mercedes S-Class, and the upcoming Mercedes-AMG E63 facelift have all been caught undisguised several months before we're supposed to see them. In the case of the latter, the leaked photo has allowed artist Nikita Chuyko to produce a realistic render showing us what the updated Mercedes-AMG E63 performance sedan will look like.

At the front, the updated AMG E63 has been rendered with an updated Panamericana grille with vertical bars, along with new LED headlights and a revised lower front bumper that make it look more aggressive.

As we saw in the leaked photo of the undisguised AMG E63, the taillights of the new facelift model are now positioned horizontally and merge onto the trunk lid. Elsewhere, a curved chrome bar stretches across the trunk led and connects to the taillights. The exhaust tips have also been restyled to give the AMG E63 a fresher look. These subtle design changes make the refreshed AMG E63 match the rest of the new Mercedes lineup.

We haven't been given a peek inside the cabin yet, but the interior should be updated with the latest version of Mercedes' MBUX infotainment system.

Powertrain options also haven't been confirmed yet, but the current Mercedes-AMG E63 S is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 603-horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, enabling the high-performance sedan to sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph. All that power is sent to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The regular Mercedes E-Class facelift is expected to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March, so the AMG performance version should arrive either later this year or early next year.
