While Mercedes-AMG is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with four burly black special edition models of the AMG GT C roadster, Mercedes-Benz doesn't want SL and SLC owners to feel left out. So just in time for the summer, the German manufacturer is announced that it will be launching a series of eloquent special edition models for its flagship roadster.

First up is the striking SLC 300 RedArt Edition, which is painted in Selenite Grey Metallic Paint with gloss Red accents on the front spoiler, intake arches, rear diffuser and side fins. Compementing the sporty styling are model-specific 18-inch twin 5-spoke polished wheels with perforated brake discs and red brake calipers displaying "Mercedes-Benz" lettering at the front. Inside, the SLC 300 RedArt Edition's inviting interior features luxurious nappa leather upholstery, with contrasting Silver Pearl nappa inserts, red stitching and the RedArt Edition logo embroidered on the head rest, just to remind you that your roadster is a special edition.

Elsewhere, the steering wheel, headrest and Dynamic Select selector lever are lavished with a carbon-fiber-look trim. Whereas the SLC 300 RedArt Edition is a special edition model, Mercedes is offering the Performance Studio RedArt as an option package for the 2018 Mercedes-AMG SLC43. All of the exterior design flourishes of the SLC300 RedArt edition remain, apart from the wheels which have been painted in gloss black with red rim flanges, and the red brake calipers now have "AMG" lettering.

The SLC43's interior is also similar to the SLC300, with black leather upholstery and contrasting red piping, with the addition of seat heating as well as AirScarf neck-level heating as standard to ensure that you travel in crisp comfort. Last up, the Mercedes-Benz SL450 and SL550 get a new design Edition available in Brilliant Blue Metallic or Cardinal Red Metallic paint, with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear AMG 10-spoke forged wheels, chromeflicsin the front bumper anddesignoEdition badges in the fender vents to give it a distinctive look.

In contrast to the sporty interiors of the other special edition models, the design edition aims for absolute luxury. Black designo nappa leather adorns the seats and door panels, and the roof liner is coated in Porcelain designo Dinamica microfiber. It also has ambient lighting, a three-spoke steering wheel covered in Black and Porcelain nappa leather, and floor mats with Porcelain designo badges and edging. You also get a huge wealth of luxuries, including climatized seats that will massage you and provide AirScarf neck-level heating.

Mercedes' Driving Assistance Package also comes as standard, with adaptive cruise control with steering assist, blind-spot monitors,anActive Brake Assist system with cross-traffic functionality, active lane control, and Pre-Safe Brake. Like the other special edition models, thedesignoEdition SL450 and SL550 will be available in the US this summer.
