Meet the Shadow Edition.
Everyone loves a modified Mini Cooper. That's just the basics of being a petrol head. The Mini Cooper has appeared in front of the public eye in a massive range of special editions over the years, and recently celebrated 60 years of John Cooper, but that hasn't stopped Mini UK from revealing yet another special edition. Called the Shadow Edition, the new special model is available on all models with Cooper and Cooper S engines and is even available on the Mini Electric. Like most special editions these days, this is merely an appearance package, and it's only available for UK customers at the moment, but we have to admit: it looks pretty good.
The Shadow Edition was made available for the Mini Clubman and Mini Countryman earlier in 2021 and has now spread its dark tentacles to the rest of the Mini lineup. The Shadow Edition Convertible and Hardtop are based on the higher-spec Sport trim and focus on creating a blacked-out, or 'murdered' effect. These models feature a Midnight Black metallic exterior paint color with a contrasting silver roof and mirror caps with Piano Black exterior trimmings. These special little cars roll on a set of 18-inch John Cooper Works Course Spoke alloy wheels and also get a John Cooper Works spoiler and special LED front and rear lights.
The Mini Electric Shadow Edition is based on the Level 3 trim and is fitted with less aggressive 17-inch tentacle spoke alloy wheels, but features the same Piano Black Exterior and Midnight Black metallic roof and mirror caps. Special Edition graphics adorn the hood of all versions as does the Shadow logo on the lower roof. On the inside, these special editions feature an Anthracite headlining and a Piano Black trim, John Cooper Works sport seats, and a sports leather steering wheel with Chili Red contrast stitching. In terms of standard tech, these cars come with an 8.8-inch infotainment display, rain-sensing window wipers, and LED headlights. Pricing starts from £22,340 ($30,706) for the manual hardtop.
