Reveal / Comments

The new trucks honor five branches of the armed forces.

Ram builds some of the most badass trucks on the planet, workhorses that are tough, reliable, and super cool. And the company has now announced that it will be expanding its range of Built to Serve special edition trucks with the second installment of the limited-edition Ram 1500. Mike Koval, Head of Ram brand, said that "Ram truck owners, whether civilian or military, are familiar with the "Built to Serve" adage as it's something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce."

The new trucks - finished in Ceramic Gray and Patriot Blue - will roll out this month to coincide with Flag Day on Sunday, June 14, and will be joined by other Built to Serve editions that represents another of America's land, air, or sea-based military branches every three months or so. This will culminate in a range that includes each of the five military branches in the US Army. These will be available in limited numbers, with a thousand Gator, Diamond Black, Ceramic Gray, Patriot Blue, Anvil, Billet Silver, Tank, and Flame Red finishes each. They will be joined by trucks painted Spitfire and Bright White too, but only 500 of each of these will be made.

Unique styling cues will be added too, with each model riding on 20-inch Technical Gray wheels housed in body-color wheel arches. They will also feature black exhaust tips, badges, grilles, bumpers, side steps, and more. Inside, contrast stitching in Light Frost, Light Ambassador Blue, Light Diesel Gray, Core Green, or Orange will be included, while Velcro panels will be included on the front seats, allowing owners to apply any patch they desire.

However, it's more than just an appearance package, with Ram including things like all-terrain tires, skid plates, tow hooks, heavy-duty shock absorbers, and an electronic locking rear axle. The packages will be available on all body styles and with all powertrains.
