The third-gen crossover is set to debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Having been on the market since 2008, the second-generation Nissan X-Trail will soon give way to an all-new model, a prototype of which has been spied undergoing hot weather testing in Death Valley. While wearing lots of heavy camo, it’s apparent the Nissan Hi-Cross Concept that debuted at Geneva 2012 has influenced the lines of the next-gen crossover. That concept was powered by a 2.0-liter hybrid gasoline powertrain, but we have no information on what will be under the hood of the new X-Trail. We’ll have to wait for September’s Frankfurt Motor Show to find out.
