New XR8 Sends Ford Falcon Out on a Supercharged High

Facelift

Last Falcon to be Ford's "best ever."

Saying goodbye in style, Ford has given the outgoing Falcon a refresh for its final years with the Blue Oval describing the car as “our best Falcon ever.” Ford’s global design language has given the new Falcon a Fusion-esque front grille, which comes flanked by a set of LED-infused headlights. At the back, Ford has fitted LED taillights, a new boot lid and integrated spoiler. The XR8 model also boasts a power dome hood, rear diffuser, quad exhaust, five-spoke alloys and black mirror caps.

Without delving into specifics, Ford revealed the Falcon will be offered with a selection of powerplants topped by a supercharged V8. Other units include turbocharged and naturally-aspirated six-cylinders and an EcoBoost four-pot. The Falcon will hit Australian showrooms later this year with pricing, as well as more details and pictures, to be revealed in the coming months.
