It's almost time for the opening of the 2011 New York Auto Show and Ford has unveiled the 2013 version of its full-size Taurus sedan and the high-performance SHO. The sedan comes with some tweaks in styling, a new four-cylinder turbo engine option, and a host of improvements. The biggest news is that the 2013 model year is receiving an optional EcoBoost 2.0-liter four-cylinder that will also be available on the Explorer and Edge SUVs.

This engine will produce 237-horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The SHO, on the other hand, will continue to sport the same 365-horsepower, twin-turbo V6 for the 2013 model year. Additionally, Ford will give the high-performance SHO a unique trim for 2013 that will include a blacked-out mesh grille and black side-mirror housings. The automaker has also upgraded the Taurus with the company's full array of electronic technology, including the MyFord Touch infotainment system and Curve Control.
