Blending German engineering, British elegance and Italian Sportiness.
As the team behind the "D5" project continues to work on the 2016 redesign of Audi's flagship luxury car, the A8, leaked reports are beginning to shine a very bright light on this upcoming model. According to Car Magazine, the next A8 is being touted by internal sources as a blend of "British elegance with Italian sportiness and German solidity". Underpinning the A8 is the PL65 platform, which will also carry the next VW Phaeton, Audi Q8 and possible Q9 Coupe.
In terms of design, the king of Audi sedans will feature a smaller single-frame grille, new rear design and a massive sunroof with 'greenhouse' feel. The car will serve to deliver a host of new technologies developed by the company, including three levels of autonomous drive, a new air-suspension system and more. Eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive will remain standard.
