Set to arrive sometime in 2016.
We’re still a couple of years away from the next-generation BMW 5 Series, but spy shots of the new model have just come in, providing insight to both its exterior and interior styling. As previously discussed, the new 5er will be an evolution of the current design, developing its premium, sporty appeal. A new lightweight platform that will allow for better handling, while thanks to a diet of increased high-strength steel, aluminum and carbon fiber it should also lose around 220 pounds.
Underhood, the US will almost certainly receive a turbo four, but we expect the inline-six option to remain. The next M5 will probably have the same, yet more refined 4.4-liter twin-scroll V8.
