Next Gen Holden Commodore Makes Big Strides In Aluminum

Holden

Holden, the Australian division of GM, recently announced that the 2014 VF Commodore will be built using aluminum body components. This might not sound like big news, but the VF Commodore is made to compete with the Toyota Camry, and the kind of aluminum construction technology we're talking about is typically used on much higher-priced cars from companies like Jaguar and Audi. The weight-savings is expected to deliver 7% better fuel economy.
