The new Mk7 Golf is getting a sporty styling all around.
Volkswagen has decided to go in a new direction with the next-generation Mk7 Golf and Golf Plus. The hatchback will get a sporty look consisting of a steeper windshield, wider track and a lower roof-line. In keeping with the sporting theme, the instrument panel and center console will be brand new and face towards the driver. The Golf Plus variant will get a thicker and bulkier frame with five seats.
According to Autocar, the new Mk7 Golf will feature more strongly raked A-pillars as well as a fatter wheel track and pumped out wheel arches. VW plans to feature a new active steering system dubbed 'mechanical active'. The next-generation VW Mk7 Golf is set to go on sale in a year's time, around June 2012. Photos courtesy of CarAdvice.
