Next Honda Civic Type R Begins to Come to Life

Rendering

And it'll be for Europe and Japan only.

Here are the facts: the 215 Honda Civic Type R will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four pot that’ll be good for at least 280 horsepower. It’ll come with an aggressive body kit including that big rear wing along with alloy wheels and numerous other cosmetic and aerodynamic touches that’ll further separate it from its Civic five-door hatch sibling. Honda has also made no secret for its desire to have the car set a new Nurburgring track record for its class. It all sounds wonderful, and yet it sucks at the same time. Why exactly?

Because like all past Civic Type Rs it won’t be coming to the US. And now ATC Design has cooked up a series of renderings of what the final production version could look like. Based off some recent spy shots of the Type R prototype, these images could even be mistaken for actual production shots – if they existed. We love what we’re seeing, as this hot Civic looks fast even at a standstill. Damn shame US enthusiasts won’t have the chance to get one.
