The new BMW M3 is going to have serious competition very soon.
The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is here, but what enthusiasts are really anxious to get their hands on is the next-gen C63 AMG. This BMW M3 alternative has always had its own share of fans, but they'll need to be a little patient until its arrival. Fortunately, that debut isn't so far off because Autocar is claiming that Mercedes will reveal the new C63 AMG this coming spring. Power is set to come from an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that'll produce at least 454 horsepower.
However, there are rumors it'll have an output as great as 493 hp. It'll be paired exclusively to the existing 7G-MCT SpeedShift automatic gearbox. As previous spy shots revealed, the new C63 AMG will feature wider bumpers and wheelarches, larger air intakes, AMG-specific rims and bigger brakes than both its predecessor and the base 2014 C-Class. Although Mercedes isn't giving an exact reveal date, don't be shocked to see AMG's latest have its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
