While Mitsubishi still continues to struggle in the North American market, they manage to do pretty solid business in other parts of the world, namely in Asia. For example, the Colt has been quite popular in that region, but like every model, a replacement must come eventually. The new Mitsubishi Mirage that was shown for the Asian market last year will reportedly replace the Colt in Europe for 2013.

Photos of a lightly camouflaged Mirage shot during testing in Europe shows that the car will receive some slightly changed details and probably a different set up than its Asians cousins. Due to the fact that Mitsubishi plans to build the next Mirage/Colt at their new plant in Thailand, it'll be much cheaper to produce than the current Colt which is made in Europe at the Born plant in The Netherlands. Even though it's slightly smaller than the outgoing model, Mitsubishi says it will still carry five adults. Let's hope they've tested it with five Europeans. Power will come from a range of gasoline engines starting with a three-cylinder 1.0 liter unit with start/stop.
