Nissan is bringing its range of electric vehicles to your fingertips with a new augmented reality (AR) experience that forms part of its latest electrification campaign.

Nissan and EV fans will be able to get up close with the brand's EVs in the comfort of their homes, using AR to explore the world of Nissan electric vehicles in interactive environments. The all-new Ariya, the perennial Leaf, and the automaker's exciting Formula E racer can be viewed in different virtual settings, with Nissan ambassador Brie Larson highlighting the benefits of the company's electric range.

Lastly, the AR experience enables users to view Nissan's EV range in a variety of real-world environments, like your driveway or office parking lot.

Augmented reality is just one part of Nissan's new electrification campaign, which includes a variety of platforms to target different users and demographics. Viewers will soon see YouTube, social media, and television promotions with a QR code that will allow them to utilize the AR experience.

"When you think about it, electric cars are kind of magical," says Larson in the AR experience. "But don't take it from me. See for yourself and take tomorrow for a spin."

While the Leaf isn't the most exciting electric car around, the Ariya represents modern Nissan EVs. With luxury akin to that of a BMW, impressive safety, and fairly competitive pricing, it should be able to give its rivals a run for their money.

"This innovative experience leverages the power of AR to immerse viewers in the exciting world of electrification while showcasing our all-new 2023 Ariya," said Nissan USA's Allyson Witherspoon. "Launching a vehicle as forward-thinking as Ariya deserves the advanced capabilities of AR to highlight Nissan's decades of experience with EVs and our enthusiastic push toward accessible electric mobility for all."

We don't want to take away from the experience, but it's quite an immersive adventure that's worth trying. As mentioned, it allows you to see the vehicle in a variety of settings, including the city, and arctic and natural landscapes, while Larson narrates.

If you're not convinced about EVs or simply want to experience something new, this is a great way to dip a toe into the electrified metaphorical waters.
