Earlier this month, Nissan announced its Intelligent Rear View Mirror, or I-RVM, which was to be rolled out first on the 2018 Armada Platinum models. The mirror uses a high-res camera mounted at the rear that projects a clear image onto an LCD monitor built into the standard rearview mirror. Platinum trim Armadas also boast a power-sliding moonroof, front climate controlled seats, Family Entertainment System and Nissan Safety Shield technologies.

However, the Japanese carmaker feels this still isn't enough for its top-trim full-size SUV offering, and has today revealed the Armada Platinum Reserve at the State Fair of Texas. "With its annual attendance approaching 2.5 million fairgoers, what better place to showcase the Armada Platinum Reserve – the most luxurious version of the reigning SUV of Texas – than the State Fair of Texas?" said Billy Hayes, division vice president, Nissan Sales, Nissan North America, Inc. Described as "the most luxurious version of Nissan's flagship full-size Armada SUV ever," the Armada Platinum Reserve adds Dark Chrome exterior trim to the fully-loaded Platinum model as well as a set of 20-inch Dark Chrome alloys.

Inside, a custom cabin features two-tone leather seats with unique stitching, complemented by Black Quartz and wood trim. A "Platinum Reserve" emblem on the console lid completes the upgrades. Set to arrive at Nissan dealers late next month, the Armada Platinum Reserve will be priced at $61,690 for the 2WD and $64,590 for the 4WD SUV model. That's a significant chunk of change for Nissan's full-size SUV, but from our experience with the truck, buyers won't be disappointed with their purchase.
